Storage
- Store cakes in the refrigerator at 2–5°C
- Keep in the original box or an airtight container
- Best consumed within 24–48 hours (unless otherwise stated)
- For tiered cakes: keep on the provided stand and box, placed on a flat, stable surface
Serving
- Remove from the fridge 15–45 minutes before serving (depending on cake size)
- Allow to come closer to room temperature for best texture and flavour
- Use a clean, warm knife for neat slices, wiping between cuts
- For tiered cakes: slice slowly to maintain structure and layers
Transport
- Keep refrigerated until collection
- Transport in a cool, stable environment (cooler bag recommended for longer travel)
- Keep the cake level at all times — do not tilt or stack
- Avoid heat, direct sunlight, and extended travel times
- Tiered cakes require extra care due to their structure
Cake Stand Deposit (Tiered Cakes Only)
- A $50 cake stand deposit for a 2-Tiered Cake and $100 for a 3-or-4-Tiered Cake
- Refund issued upon return of the stand to any Black Star Pastry store
